Major update soon!

I've been working hard over the last month or so to roll out a pretty significant update.

There have been many changes since the last update. I've changed the color scheme, added widgets. I've built a color theme that I have been able to use across the whole game. I'm trying to make sure that all the UIs look and feel the same for this update. Though very much not the final graphics for the UIs it should at least not be a distraction.

I've worked a bit on the ship engines and this concept of distributing and using power for each of the parts. Attempting to get to a place where the parts have power usage requirements. This can be significant the more blasters, shields and lasers you add. Each using up your engines power. This should hopefully lead to adding batteries and or capacitors. Possibly increasing the need to build larger ships and rescaling the battlefield.

Shields for instance charge quicker if they are not on consuming power. And I have this idea of adding capacitors that can store power which can lead to faster discharge of the powerful lasers. This system also reacts to the part being destroyed as it always has.

I also have added visual bars indicating engine power and laser charge status right on the ship part. It's a little off putting there so I need to clean it up a bit but definitely something I am considering leaving.

In fact there is just a lot of cleanup going on. I am amazed how much actual cleanup work there is. And it's surprising how much it builds up with just these simple systems. There's a lot more with the game I would like to do. And before I do that I want to get some feedback on these changes. It would be great to have feedback while working on some super important parts to make sure some of the choices already made are working. And hopefully the new work will be sharable.

I so desperately want to push this game over the finish line, it's not even funny. We'll see how it goes. I would like to eventually get it presentable on steam as well.

I'm super nervous to actually put this game up on steam. Since it's not exactly screaming of the most bleeding edge concept or gameplay. It would just be nice to know where exactly it lands for people. Once it lives up to the vision. And then it'd be nice to move on and do some more prototypes looking for that A or A+ gameplay loop. The experience has been really good for the level of completeness and quality increase in my projects though.
